Quiet Ensemble for iii
In March 2015 Quiet Ensemble will be the first guests of the artist residency program organized by the artist-run platform iii in cooperation with Satellietgroup and Studio Loos, which will host 9 guest residents working in the field of experimental music, sound art and media art throughout 2015. During their residency Quiet Ensemble will be working at Studio Loos preparing a new audiovisual performance which will be presented at Wonderwerp #60 on March 26th besides performances by Doron Sadja and Marinos Koutsomichalis. For those interested in meeting our guests, Quiet Ensemble will also offer a dinner and artist talk at Studio Loos on March 19th at 18:00.
About Quiet Ensemble:
The research of Quiet ensemble goes through the observation of the balance between chaos and control, nature and technology, creating subjects that perfectly merges the those elements, elements that take form from the relation of organic and artificial subjects, moving the attention to insignificant and wonderful elements, like the movement of a fly or the sound of trees. The interest is connected to those technologies that explores the aesthetic and conceptual possibilities deriving from interactivity techniques, apProaching the newest technological discoveries as if they would be the tools for creation, like the brush for the painter. Working on the relation between time and space, sound and image the work of Quiet ensemble changes and develops in time, relating to the space, changing it. Emphasizing the unespected events, refuting the apparent immobility of shapes and melting the appearing opposition of forces in nature. Concrete and abstract shapes are sectioned and remodeled in hybrid forms and balances, parallel giving great importance to the pure aesthetics of forms. Quiet ensemble is born in 2009 from the meeting between Fabio Di Salvo and Bernardo Vercelli.
Guest residency program for 2015 with iii

iii is an artist run platform for the development of self-made media based in The Hague which supports idiosyncratic research trajectories that zigzag between disciplines and distribution channels. iii operates as a production house, artist residency and distribution agency, promoting radical interdisciplinary work crossing between the fields of music, visual arts, theatre and media design. Inventing new instruments and out-of-the-box presentation formats that engage with the four dimensions of image, sound, space and the body, iii strives to offer unique experiences to a broad and varied audience.
iii is proud to announce its guest residency program for 2015.

Dancer Sooraj Subramaniam
Review in Volkskrant 16-02-2015
Sooraj Subramaniam is dancer and performed in Tightrope Walker by Kalpana Raghuraman during Cadance Festival at Korzo
Kalpana Raghuraman, who grew up in the Netherlands but is also deeply rooted in the Indian culture, presents a double-bill of contemporary Indian dance. Tightrope Walker was created specially for Sooraj Subramaniam, one of the best performers of Indian dance in Europe. In this modern solo, a man escapes from his suffocating environment, in which the eye of the other is ever-present; always judgemental. Even if that ‘look’ only really exists within you.
