Guest studio 2: Tita Salina & Irwan Ahmett (ID)

Dear all,
We are looking for volunteers for our art project: Halte in je Hoofd (Tram-stop stuck in your Head). This is the second project out of five for Urban Play The Hague, a project affiliated with the DCR Guest Studio.

Halte in je Hoofd is inspired by the mysterious female voice in the trams of The Hague. This voice kindly reminds us not to miss a tram-stop and helps us not to get lost. For those using the tram on a regular basis, the voice becomes part of their daily routine. As we are from chaotic Jakarta we are fascinated by the structures and daily routines of The Hague and therefore want to memorize the names of the stops and join the mysterious voice. Together with the help from you, we will be saying it together, to point out the absurdness and to show that it is also on our tongue.

The way we hope to do this, is by forming a group of min. 10 people, spread out over 3 wagons of one tram. We will ask you to sit (or stand) and listen carefully for the voice. When it starts to speaks, we will all automatically loudly speak too as one unified voice. This will be done for a number of consecutive stops.

What we would like to ask from you is to join us and to practice the names of the tram-stops until it sounds almost exactly like the female voice. The plan is to 'perform' for three different tram routes. Before executing the 'performance', we want to practice for each of these routes for about 20 minutes. It is important to unify the voices in order to have a successful outcome.

The schedule for practicing is on 23rd and 24th of May at 4 pm, at DCR Guest Studio #2, De Constant Rebecqueplein 20b. The performance is on 25th of May and it will start from 2 pm to 5 pm (the performance might be finished sooner according to the traffic at that time).

Thank you in advance!! We hope you can join.
